This WIP thing is getting out of hand...

For the sake of my incredibly untidy house, I must finish the sleeves to Matt's jumper by Sunday. All the works in progress are starting to take up more room than my stash. Ok, that's a mild exaggeration, but I feel more guilty from the piles of unfinished projects, than the piles of yarn. I also figure, if I actually say it, it's not just a goal in my head that I can dismiss on Sunday afternoon.

I also really need to get started on my Christmas knitting, so I've started a queue in the side bar, again, hopefully to get myself into gear and do it. The fingerless gloves are for Dad, and are to be made from the red and black yarn I orignially bought to make his socks from. The scarf is for my Mother in law. Both are kind of silly presents, as it's bound to be a 40 degree day on Christmas day, but they'll eventually be useful for them, I hope.

I.have.no.willpower. Part two

Sure, its the business end of the semester, and I had 4 assignments due last week. Sure, I've got so many knitting projects in the queue, that if they were lined up end to end, they would go around the Earth's circumference, 7 times over, but the Inca thing is still stuck in the back of my mind.

So I finally ripped out the cabled jacket, and while I was dutifully winding the handle on my ball winder, I kept thinking "What should I write for my Agricultural Economics essay? More importantly, what am I going to do with 21 balls of Inca?".

Then Knitty came out, and I thought "Aha! I can use it for Blackberry, minus the bobbles and cables", but then I thought better of knitting a long-sleeved shrug/cropped cutaway cardigan with bulky wool. It looks good on the designer, but I don't think my body shape and posture would be suited for it.

So, I've settled for floor cushions. I really can't see Inca working as clothing for myself, so homewares it is. The top and bottom will be made up of 4 squares each, two in stocking stitch, and two in reverse stocking stitch, and the sides will be some sort of cabling ( I haven't decided on the pattern yet). It's proved to be a nice quick knit so far, as I started yesterday, and I'm about 75% of the way through the top of it.

(Trust me, it will look better after blocking, and if I could take a decent photo)

I finally finished the front and back of Matt's jumper, and I'm now working on the sleeves. They're as boring as hell, but I'm knitting them at the same time, so once the first sleeve done, so is the second, so it will be good, from that perspective.

I also knitted up some monster slippers (from Stitch N Bitch Nation) for my sister's birthday. They turned out surprisingly well, but I forgot to take a photo of them, at any stage of the process. I'll have to get her to send me a photo of them. They were a good quick knit, and reaffirmed my general dislike for eyelash yarns. They just aren't for me, either to wear, or work with.
